C.S. Lewis famously said, “I believe in Christ, like I believe in the sun – not because I can see it, but by it I can see everything else.”
In your everyday life, what kind of lens do you look through? Do you look through the lens of money, power, or maybe pleasure? Even though we can’t tangibly see God (1 Peter 1:8), C.S. Lewis explains that he looks through the lens of Christ to see everything else. Just like we can’t stare directly at the sun because of the damage it would cause our eyes, we can’t look straight into the face of God until we’re in heaven. But if we adopt Lewis’ perspective, God’s light will illuminate every aspect of our lives and we’ll be able to witness His glory reflected all around us.
