As the week wraps up, let’s not numb ourselves to the horrific shooting that took place on November 5th in a Texas church. For the rest of us, it’s just one incident we feel nauseated by, pray briefly for, and desensitize our hearts to. But for the friends and families of victims, this day devastated their lives.
Yet, John Piper reminds us that we have a compassionate Savior who brutally suffered and who’s acquainted with grief. “The God who draws near to Sutherland Springs is the suffering, sympathetic God-man, Jesus Christ. No one else can feel what he has felt. No one else can love like he can love. No one else can heal like he can heal. No one else can save like he can save.” Read more of Piper’s insights about the Sutherland Springs shooting in his article.
